The trick to this wee number is all in the prep work. It literally comes together within minutes!

You’ll need to make 3 rows of ingredients on your bench next to your wok, trust me, it just lets you throw everything in so much easier without the stress of looking at the recipe when things are happening so fast.

In your first row you will need 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.

In your second row you will need 1 teaspoon of Sambal Oelek, 1 packet of instant miso soup paste (18g) & 1 tablespoon of black pepper.

In your third row you will need 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce & 1 cup of chicken stock.

Right – now let’s get cracking.

Whack your wok over high heat & bung in 50g of butter to melt until it’s foaming. Throw in row 1 & fry until aromatic (this happens really quickly) then chuck in row 2 & stir for a minute before chucking in row 3 to bring to a boil & reduce by 1/4.

Add in 500g of stir fry beef strips to cook in the sauce & there you have it. Told you it was quick!

Now I like to throw in cooked vermicelli noodles at the end to soak up the sauce for flavour but if you want you could serve with rice or over fried noodle. If you don’t want to do either of those, you can always combine a tablespoon of cornflour with 3 tablespoons of water to make a paste & whisk that through to thicken the sauce.
