They reckon that breakfast is the most important meal of the day,
but what do you do if you just can’t stomach food first thing in the morning?
Go liquid !
All three of us in my fam-bam are this type of person. We love the ideal of breakfast but it’s just not for us. We’re more morning tea or brunch people. But it’s really important to switch on our brains when we wake up, so we turn to the good old smoothie to do this.
Bananas are the ultimate super fast food. They’re so packed full of everything we need that the saying goes, “there’s a fruit bowl of goodness in every one”. I also love to take one in my handbag for mini me to snack on or even as a Gluten Free pick me up for myself.
For my breakfast Banana Smoothie, I pour 250ml of full cream milk into a jug before adding in a couple of good tablespoons of an organic vanilla bean yogurt, a couple of sliced up bananas & a generous dollop of honey. Break out good old Mr Buzzy (aka stick blender) to give that lot a really good wazz up & pour into glasses.
When strawberries are looking good in season, I like to chuck in a few of those as well but don’t tell anyone 😉
