Apple Bars

Sticky sweet glaze encapsulates soft juicy apples embedded on a crispy pastry base.

My fam-bam reckon these naughty but nice treats are a wee bit of alright.

Honestly, this is yet another one of those recipes that is oh so easy you’ll be whipping them up for everything from lunch boxes to dinner parties!

Simply cut up a store bought sheet of puff pastry (that you’ve thawed) into whatever size you want your bars to be, then lay a row of thinly sliced apples on top of each one. Generously dust with cinnamon sugar (a mixture of ground cinnamon & caster sugar) before bunging them on a baking paper lined tray & whacking them in a 230c oven for 20 minutes.

Allow them to cool completely before whipping up the glaze by popping 1/2 cup of icing sugar into a bowl & adding 1 tablespoon of hot water then giving it a jolly good stir.

Dunk the tops of the apple bars into the glaze & allow to set before greedily devouring.
